I went to vet camp this year!  There was so many interesting things.

Tomorrow I will see a full-on surgery!   How cool is that?  Today I saw a real dog heart with dead heart worms in it!  I also learned about a dog’s body language.  If their hackles are raised and if they are baring their teeth, you should probably avoid them.  If a dog’s tail is wagging, his eyes are relaxed, that means he is happy.  If a dog runs away from you, do not chase after it.  It may bite, growl or even hiss!  If a dog is scared or frightened, it might run away or fight.  A dog when it is mad is no game!

I also learned about tape worms.  They live in the stomach and intestines and it may cause a terrible tummy ache :(.  Your dog may die if it is has not been treated for heart worms.  To prevent dogs and cats from getting sick or possibly dying from heart worms, put your animal on a special pill once a month.

I also learned about rabies.  Rabies can be very dangerous and yes it can even be fatal.  The only animals that can live with rabies are bats.  When a dog or cat or any animal you have in your household gets rabies, you have to put it to sleep.  To make sure they don’t get rabies, make sure they get a shot every two years or so.

We also played games like Bingo, Four Corners, Musical Chairs and fun stuff like that.  I really had a great time at Vet Camp today.  Vet camp is the best!  I cannot wait to go tomorrow.  Vet camp is the best camp for any young animal lover.
